The Cyclone IV family is built on an optimized low power process and includes two main variants. Cyclone IV E focuses on low power and high functionality at the lowest cost. Cyclone IV GX provides low power and low cost FPGA solutions with integrated 3.125 Gbps transceivers. Cyclone IV E devices operate with core voltages of 1.0V and 1.2V.

This development board is based on the Altera Cyclone IV FPGA EP4CE6E22C8N. It includes an onboard high capacity EPCS16N serial configuration memory and supports both JTAG and AS download modes. The board also integrates 64Mbit SDRAM and supports SOPC and NIOS II development.
