How to Use the XL6009 DC-DC Step-up Booster Module

The XL6009 is a high-efficiency step-up (boost) converter capable of providing adjustable output voltage from a lower input voltage. It is easy to integrate into projects requiring a stable voltage supply.

Connections

  • VIN (+): Connect to the positive terminal of your power source (3.5V – 32V).
  • GND: Connect to the negative terminal of your power source.
  • VOUT (+): Connect to the device or circuit requiring the boosted voltage.
  • GND: Connect to the negative terminal of the load (common ground).

Adjusting the Output Voltage

  1. Locate the small potentiometer (screw) on the module.
  2. Use a screwdriver to turn the potentiometer.
  3. Measure the output voltage with a multimeter while adjusting.
  4. Turn clockwise to increase the output voltage, counterclockwise to decrease.
  5. Do not exceed the module's maximum output voltage (35V) or rated current (2.5A without heatsink).

Tips for Safe Operation

  • Always connect the load after adjusting the output voltage to avoid accidental overvoltage.
  • For currents above 2.5A, attach a heatsink to prevent overheating.
  • Ensure the input voltage is always lower than the desired output voltage, as the module cannot step down voltage.
  • Keep wiring short and thick enough to handle the expected current.
  • Use a multimeter to monitor voltage and current during initial setup.
