Principle of Operation

The remote control communicates with the media center using infrared (IR) signals. When a button is pressed, the remote transmits a coded infrared signal containing the corresponding command.

The included TSOP IR receiver detects the infrared signal and converts it into an electrical signal that can be read by the Raspberry Pi through its GPIO interface. Media center software can then decode the received command and perform the corresponding action, such as navigating menus, controlling playback, adjusting volume, or selecting media.
