Pin Definition
- Pin 1 – 5V: Power input (DC 4.2V to 6V)
- Pin 2 – GND: Ground, connected to system ground
- Pin 3 – TXD: TTL data output
- Pin 4 – RXD: TTL data input
- Pin 5 – Touch: Finger detection signal output (maximum 50mA)
- Pin 6 – 3.3V: Finger detection power input (DC 3.3V to 5V, approx. 5uA)
Hardware Connection
- The module communicates with 3.3V or 5V MCU systems via the serial interface
- TXD pin of the module connects to the RXD pin of the microcontroller
- RXD pin of the module connects to the TXD pin of the microcontroller
- For PC RS-232 communication, a level converter such as MAX232 is required
How It Works
- Fingerprint processing includes enrollment and matching operations
- During enrollment, the same finger is scanned twice to generate a fingerprint template
- The generated template is stored in the internal library
- During matching, a scanned fingerprint is compared against stored templates
- The module returns a success or failure result based on the comparison
Applications
- Access control systems
- Attendance and time tracking systems
- Safety deposit boxes and lockers
- Car door lock systems
- Embedded security and authentication projects
