As a boost converter, the MT3608 increases voltage while proportionally reducing the available output current, since the total output power cannot exceed the input power. Depending on input voltage, output voltage, and thermal conditions, the module can deliver up to 1.5A continuous current, with peak capability up to 2A. How It Works

The MT3608 module uses a boost converter topology to raise the input voltage to a higher output voltage. The onboard multi-turn potentiometer allows precise adjustment of the output voltage. Rotating the potentiometer clockwise (CW) decreases the output voltage, while rotating it counter-clockwise (CCW) increases the output voltage.

The maximum achievable output voltage depends on the input voltage and load current. For example, with a 9V input and a 1A load, the maximum output voltage is typically around 20V.
