The pi-topCEED is powered by a Raspberry Pi 3. It runs pi-topOS which is based on Raspbian. The operating system includes educational software such as Scratch and Minecraft Pi as well as productivity tools like Google Docs LibreOffice and Google Drive integration. It also includes coding tools such as pi-topCODER and CEEDuniverse which teaches programming through interactive challenges.

Inventors Kit

The pi-topCEED package includes an Inventors Kit containing 20 electronic parts and step by step instructions. Students can build projects such as a motion activated robot wire game and music machine using LEDs buttons and other components. The kit uses the pi-topPROTO+ breadboard with GPIO breakout pins. The pi-topPROTO+ connects directly to the Raspberry Pi and clips into the magnetic sliding module rail for fast installation and removal.
