Desoldering braid (also known as solder wick) is a finely woven copper braid designed for removing unwanted solder during electronic rework, repair, and prototyping. Manufactured from high-purity oxygen-free copper and infused with no-residue flux, the braid efficiently absorbs molten solder through capillary action. Simply place the braid over the solder joint, apply heat with a soldering iron, and the solder is drawn cleanly into the braid, leaving pads and component leads ready for rework.
