The Polyester Capacitor uses layers of metal foil and polyester (Mylar) dielectric to offer a wide range of capacitance values, typically in a compact size suitable for low-voltage applications. Due to the "rolled" film construction, these capacitors may exhibit higher dissipation and capacitance changes with temperature variations. Note that unlike electrolytic capacitors, which must be wired with correct polarity, polyester capacitors are non-polarized and can be connected in any direction.
