This series of cylindrical electrochemical double-layer capacitors provides excellent pulse power handling characteristics. The performance is achieved through very high capacitance and very low equivalent series resistance. They can be used alone or with primary or secondary batteries. These supercapacitors extend backup time, improve battery life, and provide instantaneous power pulses as required. Ideal for hold-up, energy harvesting, and pulse power applications.

Soldering Recommendations

When soldering supercapacitors to a printed circuit board, the temperature and time applied to the capacitor body can negatively affect performance. Only the leads should come in contact with solder.

  • Do not immerse the capacitor body in solder
  • Avoid contact between the capacitor body and molten solder
  • Keep the capacitor body away from the PCB or other components during soldering
  • Excessive temperature or thermal cycling can cause case damage or reduce capacitor lifetime

Hand Soldering Guidelines

Maintain distance between the capacitor body and the soldering iron tip. Never touch the capacitor body with the soldering iron as this can cause permanent damage and alter its electrical properties.

  • Maximum soldering iron temperature 350 degree Celsius
  • Limit contact time to less than 4 seconds per lead
  • Avoid repeated heating of the terminals to protect the capacitor body

Notes

Excessive heat transfer during soldering may damage the capacitor and reduce its lifetime. Proper soldering techniques are essential for safe and reliable operation.
