Principle of Operation

The Raspberry Pi 4 is installed inside the pi-top enclosure where it connects directly to the integrated intelligent power management board. The internal rechargeable battery supplies regulated power to both the enclosure and the Raspberry Pi, allowing completely portable operation without requiring an external power source.

An onboard controller continuously manages battery charging, USB-C power delivery, system protection, OLED status display, cooling fan operation, and programmable user buttons. The active cooling system prevents CPU thermal throttling during heavy workloads, while all Raspberry Pi interfaces remain fully accessible for peripherals and expansion modules.
